Default turbo cutting out after 5 psi

my friend just put a turbonetics turbo on his b18 and now its cutting out after 5 psi....

he ran stock fum injectors and then afc with 550 injectors...he has the map sensor and the boost gauge is spiking

no engine codes, air fuel gauge read ok

if he slowly gives it gas it will kinda go

he is gonna need a timing light and very loosly loosen the distributor..... find out what the timing is and retard it(rotate towards the back of the car) a few degrees more than stock... some people say 1 degrees for every psi of boost... what octane gas is he using? shouldnt use anything less than 91...

I dont get this post very well. Be more specific, what is it doing exactly? Cutting out as stalling, or what? Map censor spiking? What the hell is that. If he slowly gives it gas it will kinda go? As in not cutting out past 5 psi? Is he running stock boost?

he says that it seems like the boost is not blowing out in the right spot, when you go past 5 psi the turbo is not kicking in, but if you let off the gas then it will gradually kick in. i was saying he HAS a map sensor and the boost controller is spiking, not the map sensor. He is running 93 octane, i told him about retarding it.

Did he put colder spark plugs in and gap them properly. He could be blowing out the spark. How is the boost controler "spiking".

Berz out.

Does he have a stock map sensor like we all do? Or does he have a "3 Bar MAP sensor."? If hes using an FMU and VAFC he will need a missing link. When a honda map sensor sees boost it will stop it from happening again.
