turbo d16
I have another question the turbo kit that i got has an external wastegate but no B>O>V do i need one......some of my friends tell me that i dont need a b.o.v because that is what the external wastegate is for? are they right or do i need a b.o.v
they are completely wrong. and you dont realy NEED a bov, it helps a little, but its mostly for show. the wastegate controls the boost level by releasing some of the exhaust gas so that it doesnt go through the turbo when you have reached the boost level you want. a bov lets the extra pressure out of the side going to the engine when the throttle closes, so that the turbo doesnt slow way down during a shift.
hey, i'm only new on this but i would reccomend putting some larger injectors or at least hi-flow them. Will make a big difference in fuel delivery also put in a larger fuel pump (walbro style works well, and reasonable prices too) I have a civic vti-r (similar to civic sr2 - jap spec. But australian build) I'm currently running flat 13sec 1/4 miles with mine only with 5 psi

so the blow off valve is like just some insurance so your turbo with spool a little quicker and have a longer turbo life time....?????

60% of a BOV is for show/braggin rights/proof while driving of a turbo etc etc, the other 40% of a BOV is to extended the life of the turbo and recover faster on spoil up from shifting.
