Default Turbo Daily Driver

What is your opinion on having a turbo'd civic as a daily driver? This is what I'm doing and I'm wondering what all your opinions are?

I wouldnt advise it without a solid setup and a killer tune. And, you might want to find a different mode of transportation during the install, as your car may be out of commision for extended periods of time

I turboed my car last summer and when college started back up I was putting around 120 miles a day on her. Never had one problem. I am running only 6psi but still i drive my car hard. As long as you get quality parts anda good tune you should have no worries about a turboed civic dd.

Been boosted for over a year, 6 months supercharger, ~7 months turbocharged.

If you do it right, you'll be fine.

Thanks guys, ya it is already turbo, it has been since I bought it a year ago. I was just wondering if it was a bad idea to drive it every day, but I have an electronic boost controller and unless im racing or something i leave it off so it is only 3psi without the EBC turned on.

turbo timer helps as well on your DD so that you dont have to sit and let your car cool down for 45 seconds evertime you drive somewhere

but turbo on a DD is very possible, just gotta do things right

What is the reason for having to let the car cool for 45 seconds before shutting it off? I have been doing it because the previous owner told me, but I'm not sure why I'm doing it and how a turbo timer works so that i dont have to do it?

you are pushing the HOT oil out of the turbo with some not so hot oil or cooler oil. If you just shut the car down after a pull you can actualy cook the bearings inside the turbo because the HOT oil is still sitting inside the turbo
