turbo kit

ok guys bare with me here. i blew my d16y8 and im rebuilding. im going to turbo it, but i dont want to spend an arm and a leg and not piece it together..the vecco kit http://vecco.com/honda_kits.htm has what i need for 300 horses. now is it worth it to buy now and then upgrade the turbo later?

300 ponies on a Y8? Hmm, thats going to be interesting. Look into, forged internals, a good crankshaft and maybe some turbo cams. Dont forget to have your block freshened up. Im not to sure if you need to sleeve. Ive heard its not an easy job for the Y8 considering the cylinder walls on it.

BAHAHAHAHAHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can make 300hp on that motor, just make sure yuo build it real well. Low compression forged pistons, H Beam rods........Get a mild turbo cam, new valve springs and retainers....and ARP Headstuds.......youre definetly going to need lots of fuel system upgrades......high flow fuel rail, prob 750CC injectors, and a 255LPH fuel pump....sleeves arent needed, but they never hurt. The sleeves are good till about 350......but if youre going this far and have the engine apart, check out AEBS, they make some good ones.

Once again, going for 300 HP but dont wanna spend money? There's a pic of what happens when you do that in a previous post....

But 300 out of a Y8 would be bad ass... put pics and dyno runs up when you finish.

Dseries sleeves have been proven to last 450whp on a good tune. 300whp time and time again.

For 300whp honestly you could use Vitara's and TT rods with new rings, bearings, and good engine maintenance no problem. You just need a nice turbo setup, that's about it.

thats a very healthy goal. im interested in this one so keep us updated, and i dont know if im allowed to do this, so mods warn me if im not, but turbod16.com, they got every bit of info you would need, even seen a couple 400Hp D16's with dyno's to prove it. Good luck man and like they said, build it and TUNE it

im willing to spend the money. . i have the internals just not intalled yet..the vecco kit is the question..is the kit worth buying now, and then upgrading later to a better turbo

RE: turbo kit

That kit will not support 300whp.

A 300whp is going to cost you more than that, trust me on that. Piece it together, you will be much happier and know everything about all of your components. PM me if you need any help or have any questions.;)
