What's the point if you only want 150whp?

The engine will take 220-240whp with good tuning. I ran my stock Y8 for like a year before I swapped in my Z6 for no other reason than I was bored with the power lol.

You will tire of 150whp VERY fast.

Yeah, I read a good rule of thumb is that an engine can take 2x the amount of power as stock befor haveing to do internal work. But I was just thinking if I can't get that head stud tip out, than I would just do around 150-180whp to be safe and not blow a gasket, if you read the first post I said 150-180whp. Get my car tuned for 170-180, but for daily driving run at 5-6psi.

But i'm going to call around and see if I can get a guy to get it out.

I'm almost positive that I'm going to buy this kit http://tunertoys.zoovy.com/product/T...s_Engines.html . They are a sponsor on turbod16 and have a lot of positive reviews. I can also get a 5% discount since i'm a member of the forum.

It will take me a couple of months to save up another grand for the chipped p28, conversion harness, ECU program, I'm thinking Hondata s100 (would go for the s300 but too expensive right now), as well as money for the tune. I'll get it done in this place in Hampstead NH, they have a 25% discount for honda-**** members.

^^ what do you mean it's not solid? If I get it compression tested and the engines healthy the rods should hold up fine for my hp goal.

Thats all the power I want right now, reliable daily driver, still pretty good on gas with a little more grunt. How does a turbo not justify that goal?

your telling me you want to boost your car for only 150hp to 180whp? You dont need a boost for that, just get a motor swap. Its waste of money trying to turbo a car for only 150whp.

Engine swap would probably cost more...

dude your a waste of time for me on this thread, I've researched my *** off and weighed my options. Turbo would be cheaper, (more power for less). And I can change the boost levels, daily driving lower boost. My minds set on turbo I'm not asking for alternatives, go to turbo d16 and tell them 180whp is a waste of time for turbo.

If you are that determined, then i say go with choice B. No point in taking a risk to remove the head bolt and risk damage to the block. One reason i was saying not to go turbo, because it will reduce the longetivity of your car. Finding a new head wont be that costly and should fit into your budget

Yeah, what i'm going to do is call around see if there is anybody who can get it out without any risks to damaging the block. If Not I'll prolly have to get another head. I'll post back on here once I get this settled.

if you look around hard enough...you can find a y8 engine for 300ish or so. 150-180 is totally doable on a stock provided you do your research. 2000 probably wont be enough but im sure youll be makin money in the meantime (depending on the ecu/tune...it should be at least 400)

I know, I actually have $3000 as of right now, but i'm just waiting to see if I can find someone who can reliably get the broken stud out.

i'm checking out this deal right now -----> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...link:middle:us

Don't really need the intake manifold, but the cam gear might come in handy.
