Turbo reliability

Hi i just purchased a 95 civic ex with 98k miles (got it for 2500 and its pretty good condition too) and was wondering how long would the car last under boost? i plan on getting pistons, rods, replace old headgasket, get some arp studs, and a new clutch. I was wondering how reliable as in like how long until it breaks down on me after i do these upgrades and get a turbo in. By the way it's gonna be my daily driver, thanks!

RE: Turbo reliability

if you don't abuse it, keep the boost levels reasonalbe, and use good gas, it should last you many years, but you need to do regular maintenace on it.

RE: Turbo reliability

They can be reliable with a good tune. From what I have learned a good tune doesnt mean sitting on the dyno. You want to tune for everyday usage... not the small percent of the time that a typical dyno tune would yield.

Also, not running extremely lean or pushing more than 7 psi will extend reliability. All and all though, a supercharger will give you a lot less headache.
