wat exactly does a Turbo Do???
 

hi, im trying to fix up my car but I need a lot of help cuz im New at Dis...I was wondering if anyone could tell me exactly wat Turbo iz an wat it Does....Also is it bad for a 96 HX civic?...Or does it depend on what kind of kit i get?.....Oh and if I install the kit will it hurt the engine some how???

in a nutshell, a turbo pushes a lot of air into your engine really fast and in turn your engine has to be fed more gas by your injectors to make up for it... causing more power

turbo = more air pushed into the engine. more air + more fuel in the combustion chamber = more power. here's a great write up on how turbos work: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/turbo.htm the video is somewhat confusing so i wouldn't just listen to that. read the whole article, it's very information filled!!!! there are a LOT of things you can learn from that site such as how engines work, camsafts, diesel engines, rotary engines, etc etc. i'd suggest taking a look around.
