Default Z6 early spooling turbo

I'm building a z6 right now, its gunna be able to take some heavy psi, but I wanna spool pretty early. I'm not really a top end driver, I like to drive hard in 1st to 3rd. Anyone got a heads up on a good turbo? And the rpm range that it will work in? Thanks

Im want to put down 300-380 whp. Early like I dunno, I know I need to do my homework, but is there a good turbo that spools at like 2k rpm ? Whats the "normal" spooling rpm range?

Early spool and big power don't coinside. You'll be hard pressed to find betterthan a GT28RS. It can make up to 350 and will full spool around4k-4.5k rpm. Response in and out of boost when shifting will be excellent as well.

300-380whp is a pretty big range. If you want a fast spooling turbo that will break into the 300s, you'll have to go GT2871R (GT28RS). Hope you have deep pockets.

The journal bearing option would be a T3T04e 50trim, but that will spool around 4500ish.

Why dont you just build a b16 motor? Youve got the block from me. All you need is a head to build up and you can make some nasty power!

ya i have the b16 block, i have a d16z6 engine, i have a GSR head and a b20 block....wow, i need to pick an engine, just that teh b16 and gsr are so friggin much to build up. Also, the reason I want a fast spooling turbo is cause as i drive right now (d15b7) I hardly ever rev it past 5k rpm. I shift at 3k rpm. If i rev it more then that it sounds like it will launch a rod through the intersection.

B16 block, GSR head, sell the Z6 and the B20 block and put down 300whp stock block on the B16.

Oh and FYI, building a Bseries is just as expensive as building a Dseries (assuming you don't use Vitara's with the D).
