A/C 96 Honda Civic EX
Hey everyone,
So my a/c is going crazy and my daughter and I are sweating our little bit of weight off. I have recharged it and that worked for a couple hours but than stopped. I can feel cold spots when I put my hand close to it but overall it is warm/hot air blowing out. When I went to check the gauges today on the low side it jumped to the red. There is a noise coming out from under the glove box and I don't know if I have to replace the whole thing or if it is a a/c clutch whatever that may be. I would like to do it myself if I can because where I live mechanics try to take advantage of the fact I'm a woman and they think I have no clue what is going on with my car. She is a good car I just need to get the air fixed asap because my power switches went out for my windows and locks and I have to get that fixed as well. Please any leads will be appreciated... Add some R134a containing a leak detecting dye. Where the dye appears shows where the leak is.
Once the leak is pinpointed, have the refrigerant recovered and then fix the leak. Then do this:

...replace the receiver/dryer, vacuum the system, and then recharge with the proper amount of R134a and oil
