Let's talk about composition
I'm sure that if you're somewhat into photography you have heard of the rule of thirds. If you haven't click here.
Now rules are made to be broken. I for one think that sometimes the subject belongs dead in the center of an image. I like angles and I like the feeling of motion in a shot, but nothing yields a better shot as one of a locomotive dead center in the shot while you're slowly alternating zoom with the shutter open at night. Let's use this thread to discuss our unique approaches to composition. |
I know what the rule of thirds is now that i'm in a photography class, but it turns out i've been using it all along naturally. When I submitted a picture and the teacher commented on my proper use of the rule of thirds and all I could think is "wtf are you talking about?". Sometimes though I take a picture with the subject in the dead center of a picture... it really depends what i'm taking a picture. I just try to frame it the way I think it looks best at the moment.

^^ill agree with that. At the same point, sometimes Ill take a picture with something in the middle, but when I go to edit it, Im kinda like "what were you thinking"

I think that it looks better 2/3's...i also learned about that in drawing class..very interesting stuff =]
