The head gaskets are fine, 94's and 95's were the ones that had those issues. You are right though about the connecting components. I am going to swap out the 7.5 rear for an 8.8 and i will upgrade the clutch once the stock goes out.

believe it or not the only weak point of the 3.8 v6 is head gaskets if you do run nos or a blower i'd get some good felpro head gaskets and arp head bolts

just NOS? not nitrous in general?

nice ride though.....

out of curiousity Fallfast how did you end up here on HCF? (really just wondering, dont mean it rude at all )

I wouldnt trust nos on my car. Sure its cheap power but it can really mess up your car if not done right.

It is the supercharger that comes off of the 03/04 cobra's. Supersixmotorsports.comsells the adapter plates that allow you to replace the upper intake of a split-port six (99-04) and replace it with the supercharger. Others at 3.8mustang.com are putting together the whole kit for about $2,500. You can also piece it together and probably get the price down quite a bit. I was able to get an 03 cobra plenum and throttlebody for 30 bucks. Kit is pretty much made for people on a budget. It will put a stock v6 stang around 270rwhp. Hope that clears some things up.

To the person who asked how i got here...
I joined pretty much every mustang site, and i decided to check out the "competition" lol. I like cars in general though, and i like to learn about them. I saw some bad info getting passed around here one day about mustangs, so i decided to join. I have actually liked here more then i thought i would. There are some very knowledgable people here, and have recieved numerous PM's from people wanting more info about them. I am more then happy to help, and learn from you guys about your style cars.

same here tho i have a civic but ive had 8 mustangs a 1978 mustang II cobra, 1982 lx 5.0 coupe,1987 4 cyl coupe,1984 gt convert, 1989 lx 5.0, 1991 gt auto,1993 gt 5 speed, 2001 bullet. so i know a little about them lol, the reason i said head gaskets is cause a friend of mine work as a tech at a ford dealership. and he has been getting some 99 up v-6's in for head gaskets and cracked exhaust manifolds

Well, just from my personal experiance, my v6 has held up great so far (105,000miles now), and the only problem i have had is a leaky coolant hose. Again, i haven't really heard much about the headgasket issue since the mid 90's style, but your friend is probably more knowledgable then i am on this issue. I have heard a couple things about the manifolds, but not on a big scale, but who knows.
