Noooo, my car has cancer!!!
Why?!!!!!!!!! lol.
The edge of my trunk has rusted like **** and water has been getting inside

Any hcf welders have an idea how much it would cost to cut the rusted piece out and weld a new one? If it's too much, i'm going to have to rent a welder and start practicing[&:]

call around, you would just have to get some sheet metal and bend it to the same curve and tack weld it on them weld it up and smooth the welds out, bondo, then primor and finaly paint. call a body shop
^^^^ yeah... It doesn't look that hard to fixed, I might just do it myself because I'm pretty sure an auto shop is going to charge me quite a bit and right now money is little tight.[&:]
I guess I better start doing to some research on how to weld heheeh

I cant think of the name right now, but they make some good stuff that kills rust. You just clean up that area real good and paint this stuff over it. From what I can see that doesnt look bad enough yet to cut and replace. I can talk more about it with my dad and let you know if you'd like...he's been painting his whole life mostly and knows his crap...plus he's got a friend that sells for an auto paint store so we get info on (and get to test move of) the new stuff coming out. I dont keep real up to date with them unless I need something, but I can find out. It would be much easier than welding in new metal if it will work.

Yeah I couldnt tell that it rust that much..those I'd replace but the stuff that hasnt gone that far this would work for. When its done the stuff is hard...it takes a grinder to take it down if you use too much. I'll see what I can find to help you out.
grind it down, place a coat of cathy coat on it (it is a rust convertor) the 235 2 part primer (2 coats) then have a shop paint it. You should be fine.....Trust me i am a boatswainsmate and i deal with rust on boats.
DON'T TRY TO WELD IT IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING!!!
You WILL warp the metal. Sheet metal is very hard to work with because it will warp from the heat of welding. Save up and take it to a shop, or someone that know what they are doing with a TIG welder. You could do it with a MIG welder, but the heat is just too hard to control with them. SO take is to a well respected shop and have it done right.
