This is proof that the ipod thing HAS gone way out of hand... I dont see why people buy most of the crap thats available for it either.

recoculous i say! i has an ipod, broke in the first month. now i rock a $50 mp3 player that still holds all the songs i need and is only as big as a cig lighter. $50 vs. $400, you pick

 

I diagree...The ipod is one of the best inventions yet...Maybe cuz i didnt have to pay for it!! But yes they are outragous when it comes to pricing!!

 

mine got stolen out of my work truck by some sheisty GPS system installer. damn punk *** jerks that cant appreciate others nice things. that was a freakin gift from my in-laws that they had engraved with my name. even if the company replaces it, im still pretty bitter.

 

apple is amazing, there is a reason the ipod makes so much money.

 

My main complaint is that for the money of an ipod, it isnt worth it. The sound quality is one of the things that drives me up the wall. Its not the product that is making apple a lot of money, mainly the royalties from other companies that want some pie and the ingenious marketing they are using ( its my business, i know all about it ). Dont forget their recent hook up with Bose (once again, a sh**ty product company) which has by far one of the most successful marketing campaigns in the nation.

 

yes well the also hooked up with Alpine...a not s*** company, and i know lots of people who bought ipods because of the product and the company..not because of the deals other people put out for it

 

i have an i pod mini, but only because i won it, i used it for a while. but now its been sitting for about 3 of the 4 months iv owned it.

 

EXACTLY. there are so many other things out there that are better for the money. the iRiver H300 series for example, the sound quality is so much better, its about the same size (a bit thicker) and the 40 gig version was the same as the 20 gig iPod. then the new Creative Zen Touch is a little bigger than an ipod, much better sound quality, and quite a bit cheaper. theres just so much better stuff you can spend your money on...especially when it comes to MP3 players. the only reason it sells so well is because its small...and people are ignorant enough to think that because its the most expensive its the best. i had the iRiver at one point (it got stolen) and everyone said i got ripped off for buying it if it was only 300 bucks. besides 'it was so thick' and 'its ugly'. right cuz i bought an MP3 player to look at it. the only thing i ever look at is the screen, which i might add is also better than the iPods. when the H300 series came out, it was the first MP3 player with a color LCD screen, that was about two years before the ipod color, and the imaging still far surpasses the current ipod. and theyve still improved the H300 to the H-10, which is the current version of the iRiver. when the 40 gig version comes out im definately getting one.
