I find it sad that the Ipod is what most portable mp3 players get reffered to as and that when it comes to gettting a portable mp3 player most people think "I should get an Ipod" not because they know anything bout it but because it's popular (thanks to tv and movies...... reminds me of smoking) and the ads tell them so. Most people I've known who've owned Ipods don't know anything about thier size or specs but "it can hold 55bagillion songs".

 

Bose makes amazing house speakers. My parents have had theirs since the 80s and they're still crystal clear.

 

and when they bought them, the technology behind them was already going on 20 years old. they arent so much "sh**y", but they are WAY behind the times, and WAYYYYY overrated (and overpriced).

 

As long as Apple can keep selling iPods then they have no logical reason to stop. iPods are hot right now and everyone is trying to capatalize. I do think that the iPod is not its all cracked up to be. I have a massive amount of songs/audio on my dads iPod. My dad pretty much took every audio file he had and put it on the iPod. The iPod is no where near filled right now, and its the 30gig iPod. I don't think that there is any1 that could possible have a use for so much storage. One of the iPods holds something liek 50,000 songs. Thats enough songs to listen for 75 days straight. I used my dad's iPod for the whole of 3 days, one day on the plane and a couple days in London. Now the damn thing won't work. I put it back in the box i got it in and its been sitting there for a month, i'm waiting to get back to the states so i can get it fixed. There is apple quality for you. This is the first thing i bought from apple and i am not pleased with the reliability. As far as the ipod as a product, i think its pretty good. Its easy to use and all that good stuff.

holy crap when did this come back?

one of my big things taht i like about teh iriver over previous generations are 1) the sound quality and 2) the color screen. the new Video has overcome that...but at an expense. it is easilly the slowest interface of any mp3 player ive ever owned...and ive owned a lot of them. i had a 30 gig one for about a month. in that month i sucessfully filled up the 28.5 or whatever free space there is on that hard drive. it was so slow that it wasnt even worth having it over a cd player. i didnt even care when someone stole it.

 

i've got a creative zen vision. it kicks major ***. awesome for watching movies on long trips.
