M.I.A. for awhile...

Well, it's summer and I'm working every day full time, so I'm not going to be on here very much at all. I might try and check in every week or so, but it's really tough. If not, I should be back in...

RE: engine??????

The ZC is a 1.6 and is loosely comparable to the 86-87 (D16A1) Integra engine.

RE: Engine Rebuild! Please Reply!

What I posted IS a proper rebuild if you know what you're doing. You can do everything you need to do in a Civic rebuild without pulling the engine, ESPECIALLY on an EF.

The way you get the...

RE: 99 Civic SI with b18a

If you're planning to start building/boosting an LS/VTEC, start with the bottom end, as it's going to be the weakest point.

RE: Engine Rebuild! Please Reply!

Whatever you want. I usually do rings, main bearings, head gasket, cam & crank seals, and oil pan gasket on anything, other parts as needed.

RE: The myth of low CR with high boost

D sleeves are good for a lot more than people give them credit for.

RE: Wires on disi

There should be a circle with a C on it next to the #1 cylinder connection. After that they go 1-3-4-2 clockwise (from the dizzy side).

RE: 97's SS Auto Project

While you were filling the cooling system, did you open the bleeder near the thermosat housing until water came out of it?

RE: 91 SI Prelude Tranny

Actually the B20s from the 1 Preludes are different from other B18's and B20's. Not sure about the bellhousing though.

RE: Headline: Couple Finds Depleted Uranium in an auction box

Depleted uranium isn't that dangerous... It's hardly radioactive anymore. That's why they call it DEPLETED.;) They use it in tank armor now.

RE: Engine Rebuild! Please Reply!

It's a fairly easy rebuild compared to a lot of other things. You don't even have to pull the engine. Here are the basic steps:

1) Pull the head
2) Take off the oil pan
3) Pull the crank...

RE: B18 TB onto D16??

Hey Sniper, just noticed the sig. :D

About the TB, if you're gonna go turbo, me and Levi (97civicturbo) found out that the missing link won't bolt to the H22 TB. Just a heads up.

RE: to turbo or not to turbo, that is the question

Yeah. And you can always do a simple OE rebuild to essentially reset the clock. Talk to Pete... he's boosting a D with 150k+, I believe.

RE: The myth of low CR with high boost

Partially. But these statements ultimately have more to do with how big the turbo is (i.e. how much air it's moving) than with psi. PSI looks good on paper, but think of it this way: you can blow 10...

RE: 89 CRX DX Auto Starting Issues When Hot

No, you have exactly the symptoms of a fuel pump relay short. I've owned 6 EF hatches, and 4 of them had this problem, plus I've fixed a lot of other people's, so I'm pretty confident on this one....

RE: Help me build a K20a type R

Turbo-wise, I'd look into some incarnation of a GT-28 (or a hybrid version - see Forced Performance Big28). It's still got a fairly low spool, but can push huge air once it's going.

RE: Building up a B20

B20 VTEC isn't a particularly strong boost motor without some nice internal buildage. I3unny's idea is much better.

And the LS and CRV motors DO have different bores (the CRV is bigger by 1 or...

RE: D...Swap or Turbo

B18A or B18B. Most commonly, the 90-93 Integra LS/GS/RS motor. B18B preferrable.

RE: 89 CRX DX Auto Starting Issues When Hot

No, it's not a coincidence. This is a very common EF problem. The cause is almost certainly the fuel pump relay (located on the driver's side under the dashboard by the fuse panel). Search for "fuel...

Under $350 including parts. That's from the last Civic clutch bill I gave a customer.

RE: Tokico Shocks Question

No. The suspension is different, and the damping wouldn't be right even if they did fit.

RE: gsr head studs

If you're talking about head bolts, then it's up to you. They can be reused without any problem at all, since the torque specs are too low to permanently twist or stretch them. However, most people...
