RE: battery light

I've always been told when the light comes on it is either the battery, alternator or voltage regulator. You can also add a slipping altbelt to that.

For me it has always been the battery and...

They should clean your engine and...

RE: Transmission down shifting.

The drain plug is under the dip stick on my trans but as I said it is an 83. Down close to the bottom so it all drains out.

However about 1/4 of the total trans fluid stays in the torque...

RE: Transmission down shifting.

Sorry they are called bands. There is friction material on stainless steel bands that grip a drum when it needs to shift. Serves the same purpose as your foot in a manual trans but they are...

RE: Odd noises

You might check the trans fluid levels to be sure there is the right amount in there. Trans take a beating and I tend to break them in Hondas. If all it does is make a litle noise then you are lucky....

RE: ENGINE PROBLEMS

Take the spark plugs out and examine them. If they look like you have beat them with a hammer I expect your engine is screwed cause a valve broke off and beat them up likely before it punched holes...

RE: 1.5l refusing to start...turns over though

Previously this has happended to me when the coil wire was pulled part way out. The gas tank had lots of dirt in it and it would get sucked up into the filter and clog it. Then when it set the dirt...

RE: Engine flush

I ruined an engine once using an engine flush in a can. I would not personally do it again. I know a mechanic at a gas station that sells the seafoam stuff and he says he would never use it. So thats...

RE: axel problem with a 90 civic hatch

I thought the axels came with the cv joints attached and you were never supposed to take them off. Then I am not an expert on honda trans axels and cv joints.

RE: 3qt oil GONE in 200 mi - HELP

I dont think it is time to assume you need a motor. Mechanics like to make a lot of money replacing stuff. Especially a big job like a motor.

You need to find and stop the oil leak and check...

RE: 3qt oil GONE in 200 mi - HELP

Look to see where it is running out of engine. This is sort...

RE: starting issues.... yet again

My non expert take on it.

It sounds like either a fuel or a spark problem.

Next time it does it, have someone else start it while u check the fuel line pressure and spark.
