One more day folks!
One more day until I pick up my brand spankin new Civic LX !
I decided to go with an LX instead of an Si (equal to the US model EX) in case I wanna boost the engine in the future. And I decided against the SiR (equal to the US model Si) because I didn't exactly like the looks, and read some bad reviews about it.
I got an excellent deal on the LX since it's a 2005. (I just kept workin that into the negotiation)
I couldn't wait until the 2006's came in (coupes don't arrive here until mid Dec) because my daily driver needs a lot of work and I didn't wanna put any money into the junk heap.
I managed to get it financed through Honda also (at 1.9%) which is quite an accomplishment since I claimed personal bankruptcy less than 2 years ago. (I kept talkin about the dealer needing to get rid of the 2005's before the 2006's came in)
I also got a deal because I insisted on a moonroof, but doesn't come standard on the LX (more negotiating leverage, even though I didn't actually want one).
More negotiating tactics........first, I looked around the lot and noted what colors they had (what, no grey?). I insisted that the only color I liked was grey, and the dealer doesn't like to sell cars for other dealers, so I settled on silver when the salesman came down in price (they fall for that one all the time).
Now you know how I got my nickname, folks!
Hey, maybe I should do a DIY on buying a new car........lol.

P O S T P I C S!!!!
Glad to see you're takin the "aggressive" road to breaking it in. I've heard pros and cons of both ways to break in an engine, and from what i've gathered it looks like being hard on it is the better way to go. Good luck!!
