Hey I was looking around on the internet and saw a few bmw fronts on some hondas I read an article that said they looked kinda ulgy but i dont know i kinda like it it makes the car look more "chunky". What do you guys think of them?

atleast its not as bad as the bmw conversion for the ford escort.

 

this looks like a very well done conversion, but again, it also has to much rice. Also I dislike these kind of projects because in the end it's still just a civic or watever (no offense to anybody). I am willing to bet that he spent more money on creating that, than a BMW of this year costs. Why copy something, if you can buy the real thing for less? I jsut don't get the logic

 

i think it is very well put together. without those side vents and other useless junk i dont think it would look that bad. and the reason for doing it is to have something different. why do you think modding started? with so many civics out there everyone wants to do something to make theirs stand out

 

at one of my other forums, there are ALOT of guys who are putting porsche front ends on DSMs...

 

see, this isn't very different. Those people just try to make their cars look like something they aren't. I can totally understand and respect people that use body modifications to highlight or compliment their cars existing lines ( a lot of them fail, hence you got rice). Those people that are doing conversions are just attention ******. I just don't understand why you would spend all that money on body mods to make a car look like a bmw, when you can get a genuine BMW that is lighter and has a much better performance. Even if that civic or watever has some crazy engine mods, that weight will probably negate most of the gains. I also can't understand why cars are not being judged on tasteful mods, but rather on the shear amount of mods and rice on the car.
