Default Type-r, will it or wont it???

And so the debate continues (well over here anyway). Will it have the 200ps output K20 or will it have the 220ps output K20. nobody Knows, not even the Honda stealership I was in today seemed to know.
I cant understand why they would give it the 200ps K20 found in the current ukdm type-r as both the ukdm and more powerful jdm engines are built here in the uk then shipped to Japan.
And their rivals arent holding back what with a new 230bhp Golf gti now out and some new Volvo, (yes I said Volvo!) hot hatch coming soon the next type-r has to be something very special.

does it matter which engine?? just put the toda engine kit in it (header, cams, hondata k-pro, and full exhaust) and your looking at way more power than 220, super street did it on their type s project car and gained 60 whp

Yeah but the vast majority of people who buy these cars arent tuners, and secondly nobody wants to void their warranty on a brand new £18k car.
The people that will buy this car look at the performance out of 'the box' and 200bhp doesnt cut it anymore in the hot hatch world. Even if the engine and chassis are mint it will lose sales.

To tell the truth it dont really matter, the K20Z is underrated from the factory and is known to lay down around 190 to 195hp to the hubs.
