17" wheels with 205/40 tires, need new studs?
Is it going to be necessary or recomended to get longer wheel/lug studs before I put on these wheels, or will they fit well with the factory studs? Also, this is a newby question, but would a wheel spacer work toward the same purpose?
A wheel spacer would make things worse... you don't need extended lug studs... the stocks will do just fine. You might need tuner lug nuts, though, depending on the wheels you bought... if you bought a wheel/tire package, they probably came with it.
Just check to see if your lug nuts will fit into the holes of the wheels, in not you will need different lug nuts, if so just bring one wheel to your local wheel shop and get them to get you the right lug nuts, make sure they are locking lug nuts.
well rims is what maters.....
most aftermarket rims use tuner lugs..... same concept as stock lugs BUT these TUNER lugnuts use a wrench that goes INSIDE of the lug instead of on the outside like stock lugs... this way the lugs go inside the rims... which LOOK beter and harder to steal for a common thief! cause they use lock style wrench...
these are what they look like... tho i choped out the picture of the lug key...

Okay awesome, thanks a lot guys, got the wheels back today with the tires on, tomorrow I'll be buying some new lug nuts and cleaning them up a bit, I'll post some pictures in another section once they're on.
I have the exact same tire. Have fun with those in the rain buddy
I'm seriously never getting them again they're nice in dry weather but screw rain, and next time im getting a thicker sidewall because i bent the **** out of one of my rims.

A big damn pot hole going only 10 to 15 mph. Not a bad bend just the lip but still sucks. I have 205/40/17 but next im getting some kumho Ecsta's in a 205/45/17. The Neogens were really good tires but driving in the rain did suck alot. I drove back roads instead of major highways when it rained.
