17inch Tire Pressure

I do not know what the tire pressure should be in my tires. I still have to check the tire size and stuff , but is there a chart or somethign that i could know wut the pressure of my tires should be. I have 17" Kuhmo Ecstas low profile tires and need to know the correct tire pressure.

go to tirerack.com or 1010tires.com Plus, read the sidewall for the acceptable range and max psi. The rest is comfort and driving style stuff.

the max pressure is always on the sidewall... it just depends on how hard it is to find. I know on my Cooper Zeon ZPT's, it took me forever to find (50psi, by the way lol).

when I had kumho ecstas I ran 32 the road and it was a good compromise between comfort and performance. not too much in either way. I upgraded to so Yokohamas and I stilll haven't found a good psi for these yet.

Hows the ride differ from comfort and performance? Hit potholes harder?

Potholes suck with ANY tire and wheel. With a 40, or 45 series....proper tire pressure is very important. 1: to keep the tire on the wheel, (performance) 2: to add safety to the wheel, hit a pothole with an underinflated tire....ouch, there goes the wheel....and possably the tire! Max pressure, or a couple pounds down. The tire manufacturers print it on the sidewall of the tire for a reason.

well the difference of the extremeties is only going to be about 3-4 psi in each direction. if the middle is 32 (as mine was) then the best comfort setting will be about 28-30 psi because the less pressure allows the tire to absorb the bumps a little bit more. The best performance will be about 35-36 psi. This is mainly because when tires have a higher pressure, when corning hard the tire will roll less and keep the tire on the tread and off the side wall.

of course this is just what I did, you could prolly go a little bit further in either direction to find your own personal preference. but don't go too far cuz not enough air or too much is bad for the tires and wheels as well.

oh and on this size tire just avoid the potholes cuz theres no way to make potholes seem smooth
