Default 18's on a civic

I just put 18 inch racing heart rims on my 99 civic coupe, and they looked sick. Only problem, they rubbed. When i'm alone in my car, its fine, but when i have people ridding with me, they rub. This I could see being a problem. I'm just about to rip out my trunk and start my system, which will add some extra weight. I took the rims off, and i'm back to my old 15's. Is this a common problem? Are 18's to big for a Civic? And what would be a good size rim to put on my car?

most ppl will agree that 18's are too big for a civic. stay w/ 15's or 16's, they look best imo.

18's should be able to fit without rubbing. Your shocks could be getting worn out... Imo a good sized rim for a civic is a 16 or 17 because you can still lower your car without clearance problems.

i would get a set or 17s, or 16s (but i think 16s sometimes look small)...you should be fine with eather, the only thing that sucks now is you got to sell the 18"

ROTFLMAO!!!! Mine never rub when I am alone but I took my boss and a coworker out to lunch cause I was soooo proud of my 18's on my car. He is a big dude and the other person is smaller than me but when they got in MINE RUBBED ALSO (on turns and big bumps)!!!! LOL They laughed so hard but i wasn't laughing!![:@]
The guy that sold them to me has 2 95's (a coupe and a sedan) and they have the same size tires 215/35 and he lowered them and they DO NOT RUB!!!! I think the struts may need to be replaced but either way she is getting slammed in the new year. I feel your pain though!!![&:]
