94 Civic EX drum shoe change
I'm changing the drum shoe on my 94 Civic EX. Went to Autozone and got them (Part # 576), installed them, but the drum won't fit. LOL. I loosen the star adjuster. But for some reason the dumb is resisting. Go Figure. Are they different sizes of drum shoes for the Civic? I also compared the new and old ones and they match.
What am I missing? Sorry for the retarded question. This is my first Honda. Any help is appreciated

As simple as it sounds, make sure the e-brake is all the way disengaged. Also make sure you're spinning the star wheels in the correct direction. They should be pulling the shoes inward to fit the drum properly. If your old drums are real old and worn, you'll have to spin the star wheels in a lot to fit the new drums since the new drums will have more metal in them. If you didn't replace the shoes, make sure they are evenly worn all around. Sometimes they can wear unevenly and have less pad in the center than the edges, though I doubt that would be the cause of the drums no fitting.
