97 DX has leaking brake lines
 

Here I am a man of constant sorrow, I was going to a party but instead I am tring to figure out if I need to remove the gas tank on my daughters 97 dx to replace the brake lines that are leaking. I have a Haynes manual, that why I am asking here. If you have any suggestions this newbe would like to here them

Removing the old brake lines at the firewall required unbolting the left side of the subframe and brut force to pull them out. I was hesitant about unbolting the subframe but is was quite easy to do the bolts came off using a 3/8 socket set. I will be replacing the lines using a coil of steel brake line and will flair the lines myself, as I am doing this in my driveway, I do not have access to a lift and the car is as high as I can get it on jack stands. Pre formed lines are availible from a dealer IF you can lift the car high enough to install them.
Before removing the brake line fitting or losening the bleeder screws on the calipers or wheel cylinders I STRONGLY urge a propane torch before putting a wrench to them. You will be saving yourself much grief; the brake bleeding screws came off easily of the 97 civic dx which is the source of this aggrevation.
Not counting my time I expect to have about 110.00 into this project
