ABS
Question...
When ever I hit a bump or go over a deep man hole cover while I am on my brakes (in the process of stopping or applying the brakes) my abs kicks in and I have to release the brakes and quickly re-apply them in order to stop. Is this normal that the abs should kick on if im on the brakes while I hit a bump ar hole in the road? I know its supposed vibrate the brake peddle but last week if freaked me out
I was coming off an exit and had to hit my brakes a bit on the hard side cause the traffic was a bit backed up and at the same time I hit a hole and thought I was gonna slam into the car in front of me..
any thoughts... thanks!!!!!

RE: ABS
yes, this is normal the abs kicks in because of the difference in road force pressure when you hit a bump. Even though it doesn't seem like much the wheel is actual when under force trying to lock up so the ABS kicks in telling your brakes to pulse.

yes its normal. imagine what the computer is thinking. ABS kicks in when you are sliding along ice...in other words...when friction dissapears. when you hit your brakes and hit a pothole, your wheels loose friction for that split second its in the air. the computer senses that and freaks out.
