back brakes locked up!
Ok well my car hasnt been running in 2 weeks. Today I finally got it running. I was going to take it for a test drive. I let the ebrake off and tried to go but I couldnt and stalled out. I revved it higher thinking I had to get used to my car again or something. Still wouldnt move that much. Then i hear the tires dragging. My back brakes are locked up! I tried pumping the ebrake handle and stuff. Anyone know whats wrong? The car has been sitting about 2 weeks with the ebrake on. It didnt have any problems before. Any ideas?

RE: back brakes locked up!
It sounds like your ebrake cable is jammed. You should get under the car (safely) and check it out, possibly with at least one of the rear tires removed.

RE: back brakes locked up!
drum brakes can and do lock up after not being used for a while, but most likely, it's the parking brake cable

RE: back brakes locked up!
yea mine did the same thing when it was cold out and there was moisture the night b4..................just spray the cable with some wd 40 and pull it back and forth for a while

RE: back brakes locked up!
Ok got it fixed guys. I took the wheel off and messed with the cable and finally got it to break loose and spin freely again. Thanks for the help.

RE: back brakes locked up!
well just be sure to get some good grease on the cable itself.... that will kinda prevent it from sticking again..... been thier done that on my old crx.LOL i could drag the tire thru the grass and gravel but as soon as i hit pavement it would bust free.LOL
