Default brake caliper covers

does anybody have experience installing these dummy caliper covers on their eg? looks neat but i am quite apprehensive knowing that it is put in place by just silicone adhesive? i mean, these things get hot and through time, won't these just fly off? also, how would can you replace your brake pads with these on? do they have to be removed everytime you service your pads?
