Which can be a good make for a CV boot
Hi all
One of my civics has a split in one of the cv boots which have less than 10.000 miles in it. From what I can see, the fitted cv boots are those cheap standard makes (made from neoprene I think, or other weird name) which are easy to fit with a cone and then trim the excess. I think it is unacceptable that a cv boot lasts less than 10.000 miles, I know that sharp objects, little stones and stuff like this can damage them but what I have is a split. I don’t mind to go an extra mile and buy a cv boot from a good make. If you guys know any good makes please let me know Thanks |
OEM is always a good option.
I've anyways been advised to replace the cv joint as dirt or other contaminants could have gotten in the boot and caused more damage. Sometimes it is cheaper to replace the whole axle by yourself vs paying a shop labour to replace a cv joint and boot. |
