Default cutting factory springs

Anyone roll this route? I heard a guy the other day at the custom shop saying for a smooth ride you can cut your factory springs to drop an inch or two and roll like that.

I kind of don't like that idea, being that the new springs are designed for the drop your looking for, and offer maximum stability and what not. I just wondered if anyone has cut their springs, and what they have found as the ride result.

DITO DONT DO IT.... spend a few hundred bucks and buy a proper drop spring!
like if you LIKE the factory ride..... go with the popular TEIN Stechs tho be sure they are AUTHENTIC! thiers pleanty of clones on ebay that look the same BUT AINT!!!!!!!

mainly the TEIN logo on the spring is painted straight along the spring.... the rip offs are either straight or stickers slaped onto some green springs!

id say SPEND the extra money and buy them from a respectable shop! i bought mine from PROcivic..
and love them!

I have a friend and a nephew that cut their springs on two Honda Accords anda 2002 Mistubishi Eclipse. I've driven all three and they were deathtraps. Not to mention all the other horror stories I've heard about this procedure... Don't do it...

Glad to hear that. Not sure if anyone I know has tried something similar, but I am sure not going to.

I plan on buying springs anyway. I am just glad I know it's unsafe, and can voice that to others if they ask the same question. Thanks.,
