Getting an alignment, what are the tolerances?

Hello. Tire shop here offers free alignment check when you purchase tires. I qualify for this. PO did the tie rod so it may need alignment.

Shop wanted to know that if they found it out of alignment if they could automatically do the alignment. I said no, call first. I assume "any" intolerance would result in them doing an alignment to make $$$.

The Honda program thing says front camber, and front and rear toe can be adjusted. Are there specifications/tolerances for these so I can ask the shop what they found and compare to these numbers to see if I really need an alignment?

Thanks in advance.

Ask your tire shop for a print out of the alignment check. Every modern alignment machine I've worked with and seen has a computer and is able to print out the results. If they are driving it over alignment plates found on the ground, they should still be able to give you a print out. On the print out, you will be able to see exactly what is wrong with your alignment (if anything is wrong in the first place). Most places that offer alignments are able to provide a print out so if they for some reason can't do that for you, I wouldn't get the alignment done by them. Personally, I'd like to see both before and after print outs to make sure the job was done and done right.

Great idea with the printout. I will have them do this then analyze the results prior to them conducting the alignment. Thanks for the help!
