HELP! cant get rear shock bolts out!
wd-40 diplaces water (hence"WD") and lubes it, PB is very small on a molecular level, and it creeps back into the very small crevices in the bolt and nut and loosens the rusted parts. wd is mostly just a good lightweight oil.
thanks man, honestly i can't remember what brand they are. i got them off of ebay for like 140 shipped or something. or was it 127 shipped. damn i can't remember.
ok since you got the nut off, the bolt basically looks like a spike of i remember correctly, what i did was just hammer that sucker on the tapered end till it cam out. and yea be sure to relieve any pressure that might be pinching it in and keeping it from moving. put a jack under it raise it up soak a rag with PB or WD and tie it around the bolt and control arm to it has a chance to soak all the way thru instead of dripping off.
GOOD LUCK!!!

well 5hrs of hard work later and i got the rears on, finally! i ended up removing the stock strutswith theLCAsstill attachedand then drilled out the bolts. i then went to the local 'old school' hardware store and found metric bolts that fit perfectfor just $1.50 each! and boy did i grease those babies up good before i put em in!
we have snowy/icey roads at the moment so its a little difficultto judge how it handles, but itdoes seema little firm and bouncy at the moment, and theyre about 1 turn from the full soft setting. since my car is a vx i think the spring rates might be a little firm for the weight of the car, but i'll play around with the settings some more before i makea final call.
for now i'm just super stoked to be done with it. thanks to everyone for advice and support, and hope like hell that your bolts arent as tough to get out as mine were.
