Default Help! Scraping noise on right-hand turn

I have always been a fan of Hondas (former owner of CR-V and Accord) and my newest Honda is a Honda Civic. I just bought the car from a private seller who assured me that the scraping noise I heard when making right-hand turns was just the new 17" rims he put on brushing up against the wheelwells. However I took the car to a mechanic to get it inspected and he said he doesn't think the rims are what is causing the noise. He heard the noise as well and described as "disconcerting" but he apparently inspected the whole vehicle and couldn't find anything wrong that could be causing the noise. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Could it be the rims in any way, shape or form? Any sort of mechanical problem that could be causing that scraping noise? I only hear it if I make wide right-hand turns but itworries menonetheless.

It could be scraping the wheel well but it could be the cv joints on the axles. Dont know other than that.

I have the same problem, after the car was lowered it made agrinding sound, but only on right turns. So my mechanic looked around and thought hefound were it was coming from, an area around thedrivers-side brake dust shield. So he wasadjusting it, but it is still making the noise. Very strange.

is it lowered? if so it could be rubbing on the fenders lip
also, when you are moving around a corner, the side of the car will dip down which would make it easier for the wheel to rub the inside of the wheelwell, which might not be possible to rub when the car is not actually moving
