HELP with tire decisions?
 

I have a 2007 ex with sunny 225/40zr18 and i am looking for different tires other then sunnys. Does anyone have an opinion for me on this? :p

Sunnys are Chinese junk.

It really depends on what you're doing with your car, and your climate. Are you looking for daily driver tires, ones that grip, ones that are fuel efficient, ones that are cheap, summer tires, all-season tires, etc?

thanks ChristianL for your response. I drive a lot to and from work everyday so i know all seasons is what i want. I agree with you that the sunnys are junk. never again will i get those. i am looking for something inexpensive but worth buying. i agree with the saying you get what you pay for.

How do you feel about Lexani Tires?

I'd shy away from the Lexanis. They make wheels, but probably farmed out the tire manufacturing to a contractor. But, for all any of us know, that contractor could be Sunny. :D

If these are going to replace your current 225/40-18, I'd take a good look at the Continental ExtremeContact DWS. We had a set on our old Mazda3, and they were great in both snow and rain. Dry performance was pretty decent, they were very quiet, and they wore well, too.

I've also had good luck with Khumos in the past, but I'm not familiar with the ones that come in that size.

I like my goodyear eagle GT's, they aren't too expensive and they are all season. I would stick to my name brands (michelin, bridgestone, firestone, goodyear etc) Just do your research before you buy and you should pretty well be set

Lexani tires actually made by Nexen. Your best bang for your buck these days are Toyo, Yokohama, and Kumho. High quality rubber compounds, high carbon black ratio (keeps tire black instead of browning over time) and high tech tread designs. With tires, you almost always get what you pay for.
