Question How do I know if the coil springs are bad?

Just got new struts on back on my 91 Civic hatchback, but still feel rough on every bump. Like there was no struts or anything to absorve the bump. How can I tell if the spring are bad. Thanks

What kind did you get? Some tend to be alot harsher-riding than others. Bad struts will be floaty, not rock hard. Some cheap struts/shocks are kidney-punishing.
