How to tighten up my steering?

I have a 1993 Honda Civic LX 4d. My steering is really loose and if I hit any bumps it pulls the steering wheel. It makes it feel like I am driving an oversized go-cart. What can I do to fix this? Any suggestions will be great!

Ok, there could be a number of things wrong:

-your alignment could be out of spec
-your tie rods could be loose, which would lead to a bad alignment
-your steering rack could be damaged from a previous wreck or such
-have you topped off your power steering fluid if you have it?

I haven't checked my power steering fluid in a while and my alignment is a little off. I know nothing has been damaged from a wreck, but I don't know where the tie rods are? If they are loose, where are they and how do I tighten them?

This might help>>>> http://www.misterfixit.com/steering.htm

As well, to add to that list, if you're alignment is toe'd out extremely up front, then your car will proceed to handle very darty over the road such as you're describing.

This is just what I was looking for. I will be nice to go back to driving my civic again instead of a go-cart. Thanks for the help!

That was the very first search result from msn.com by searching: "loose steering"
