RE: Inexpensive tires that perform

(Summer tires):

Michelin PS2 (excellent braking, worse than average tread life)
Pirelli P-Zero (excellent dry and wet handling and braking)
BF Goodrich KDW2s (loudest)
Bridgestone Potenza RE 050 A (excellent braking, but worse than average tread life)
Goodyear GSD3s (above average tread life)
Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 (best tread life)
Dunlop SP Sport Max (excellent hydroplane resistance, but worse than average tread life)
All of those are fairly expensive.
The KDW2s are the latest version of the old KDWs, which were horrible in the rain. I'm not sure about the RE01-Rs. Hankook and Avons did okay, but were near the bottom of the list.

wheres Falken Azenis RT-615, BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW, and Potenza RE01-R?[sm=icon_beat.gif]

Dude, it's CONSUMER REPORTS, not Grassroots Motorsports [8D]

95% of the general public doesn't want a loud ass tire with horrible treadlife and poor wet traction.

ps. but I like being in the other 5% [8D]

I used to have Falken Ziex ZE-512's and they are absolutely one of the worst tires out there.

And they don't make them anymore. The 512s were replaced with the 912s (I have 912s on my subaru)
