Default Lowering!

I'm looking to lower my Civic coupe, chassis code EJ2! At the moment it sits lower at the back and high at the front, what springs would be recommended for this application? I'm not looking to get coilovers, just a good set of springs. Its on 17's(215/40/17). Thanks

How much do you want to lower it? I've heard good things about Tein's H-Tech (approx. 1"drop)and S-Tech springs (1.5"-2" drop)... actually, I haven't heard a single bad thing about them. And why is it an absolute no with coilovers? They're not that much different than lowering springs and you can have any drop from .5" to about 4"... I have Ground Controls and love 'em.

(welcome to the forums, btw!)

the main reason for not getting coilovers is the price basically! probally looking at a 40mm drop... depends on how low i can go on 17's!

well its not as much of the size of the rims as it is in the rims offset and tire size... what year is your civic?

I'll be honest.. I'm not sure if it's going to rub.. I have 205/40-17's with a 2.5" (63.5mm)drop and I don't have much of a problem with rubbing, but since you have 215's....

(also, Tein S-Techs lower about 43mm in front and 48mm in back... I'd say those would be the springs you want)

well whast your rims offset?

and if ya lower it... well it would be a good idea to roll the inner fender lips... thats what i had to do on my 99... tho MAYBE ya wont maybe ya will have to......
hopefully ya still have the stock wheels that way if your rims do rub after ya lower it you can rock the stock wheels while ya save up to buy or rent or even pay to have your fender lips rolled.. then you can slap your nice rims back on...
