Default Lowering a 97 Civic sedan.

I am debating on lowering my Civic to mainly get better handling..I have seen several springs kits and debating doing this myself...The local shop wants $300 labor which seems too high to me...How hard would it be? I read somewhere you can get the spring on and off the strut without a compressor.
Also looking for suggestions on springs..I want it to be stiffer but not rattle my kids teeth out when I hit a bump..

You should just buy dampers with your springs...

maybe you should just let the shop do it.

When you drop your car (usually around 2" or more, depending on the model) you end up with a negative camber in the struts (meaning they lean in, like this / \ ). This causes excessive wear on the inner edges of your tires, and also reduces traction dangerously. A camber kit allows you to adjust the angle of the struts so you can re-align them to the vertical.
