Lowering Springs v. Coil Over Kits
I have done the engine mods and the rims but i have not really looked into suspension. I mean i read about it and kno which products to look more towards, but i was wondering what you all thought for each one, whether to choose the coil overs or to do the lowering springs? and in that case which brnad will fit best? Cant hurt to get peer evaluation.
hey man im doing some research on the whole thing now ! i have a 99 civic si and i have tokico struts and springs and it isnt low enough! i had coilovers with stock struts b4 and it sucked so bad ! it rode like crap ! heres what i think u should do ! it all depends on if u like ur car slammed or just a lower look and how much money u want to spend ! if u like it slammed i would go with tokcio coilover system or a system like this >> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...l?ViewItem& ;rd=1&item=2478699906&category=33586&s spagename= WDVW

if u go with those u wont have to worry about ur struts blowing out this would be the best bet for slaming your car ! but dont forget the camber kit search on ebay for all your stuff! u will find it brand new and cheap as hell ! if u just want the lower look and the cheap way just buy some springs i would buy some skunk 2's they have a 2.50 drop ! thats about the best drop u can get off a spring ! make sure if u dont change ur struts u cut ur bump stops in half ! if u have any ?'s just ask ! ill be glad to help !! but dont forget "ebay" is ur friend hehehe

tokico struts and ground control coil over sleeves seem to be a popular choice among many people. also skunk 2 copil over sleeves. you will get a better ride going with lowering spring. but if your into autocross and such, the adjustability of coil over systems are nice. one popular coil over suspension popular wmong autocrossers is the tein basic damper system.

I agree!

i appreciate all the feedback, though i was not looking for somethign that extreme to drop my car, i def. want a better ride, but i didnt want to do anything more extreme than a 1.5 drop whether it be 1.5 in the front and 1.25 in back or even as clean as something 1.25 in front with 1 in the back, or just 1 all around. any ideas on who sells something that small of a drop.??
well hey stuletz ! thats funny u ask cause im selling my tokico springs they r 1.75 in back and 1.50 in front ! i have a 99 civic ! what year is ur civic ? o and there only about a month old ! the reason im selling them is cause i want my car to be lower ! if u ask around tokico r the best ! so if u might be intrested let me know ! and to answer your ? i dont think anybody sell a spring with that small of a drop ! u would even be able to tell !
i have a Civic 2003, i think the 99 was a diff body style, because i kno the 01 and up are the same as mine, no i kno there are spings with an inch drop and it is noticable i want it to be a tad lower still to look stock, what price are you looking for?

In that case just go for some springs... Eibach or Tein are great! Decent drop with a pretty good ride quality... and it will run u about $150

polo thanxs man and to everyone else for the feedback, im just going to go with the springs i heard tein was pretty bomb so im going to look into that i appreaciate it.

Im running just Tein springs on my ride and love it... Everyone in Japan buys Tein... I lived there for 3 yrs. and thats what everyone bought... and they are ALL about racing over there, mainly drifting! (which requires a good suspension setup)
