should i put more air in my front tires? i have the front and rear at the reccomended PSI, but the front seems to be sagging a bit / doesnt look as full as the rear because of the engine weight. btw, whats the reccomended amount of psi?

 

it wouldn't hurt, but i'd bump up the rear pressure equally(if u bump up the front 2psi, bump up the rear 2psi).

typical psi should be about 30-32psi front and 28-30psi rear. i put 34psi front and 32psi rear on my families cars, slightly better mpg and better performance. on my cars i run 35psi all around on the street.

 

Racer is right. Just whatever you do, don't go past 38 PSI. Not because of the tires, but the valve stems. The generic valve stem is rated between 40-60 PSI maximum pressure. On our cars we usually have the narrow long type that are the low end of that spectrum. At 38 PSI, hitting the reflector's in the center of the highway repeatedly is enough to crack or rupture them causing a flat. And in most circumstances by the time you realize it's happening, you've ruined your tire. There's also the technicality of blowing the tire off the rim if the stem holds, and you exceed the tire's rated maximum pressure. Tire's themselves have PSI max ratings because of the bead lip that seals the air into the tire on the outside of the rim. The rubber itself can withstand much more pressure, but the seal can't.

Regardless, I run 35 PSI all the way around, I have 16 inch Konig Incidents(I know, generic rim's, but I like them) with Kuhmo Ecsta ASX tires 205/45/16. Low profile handles the pressure much better for increasing performance.

 

I run mine somewhere between 32-34. I believe the recommended for most passenger vehicles is right around 32.

mine say 30 psi in front and 29 in rear. that is for 96 honda civic ex sedan. car does seem to run the best when they are at that psi.

 

In most cases your front tire will always look lower than the rear due to the higher weight. The exception would be like my low profile tires, overall they look the same.
