Default My project for the day

As some of you may remember, I was planning on having my 14" "winter rims" sandblasted and reapinted. Well, my lazy *** didn't do anything about it all summer/fall, and now it's snowing here. (Well, not right now, but it's going to get worse soon). I finally found a couple of guys who were going to do it for $125 but it turns out they don't have anywhere to do the work, so I'm going to clean them up myself. So, I'll be sanding off the corroded metal and spraying them with some Duplicolor wheel paint. And since it's 35 degrees out I'm working here in my living room. [&:] (not the spraypaint part, I think I can do that in the attic)

This is what happens when your wheels have no paint between the metal and the clearcoat. You're looking at the worst one in the closeups below.

Tune in later for the "after" pics.

This is taking longer than I thought, but it's going to be worth it! I cleaned all the crap out of all the wheels and chipped away all the loose clearcoat. This one, formerly the really bad one, is ready to be primed and painted. The other three still need another light sanding and masking. To be finished tomorrow...

Just remember "light coats" and they'll turn out fine.
