need some advice..
i dont know tooo much about struts and springs and i have a few questions. i just got 15" wheels with low profile tires (195/50/R15) and im on stock suspension. the gap between the tire and fender got worse so i really want to change that. My struts are a bit old and a lil worn so would it be ok to just get new springs and leave the struts as they are? im afraid that if i do that ill have rice bounce and it'll be an uncomfy ride. If i should leave the struts, what springs are good for a smooth ride and yet still strong for autox? I hear the Tien s-techs are good but will they be good enough for a smooth ride on worn struts? I also found a DropZone strut/spring set on ebay for pretty cheap. tho the drop is 2.5 front and 2.25 rear, is that low enough that i would need a camber kit or would it be ok just as is? also, is dropzone a good brand? I want the front to be just slightly lower than the rear for the aggressive look. to sum it up, i really just want something cheap, reliable, smooth ride, and good for autox.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Dropzones are extremely bumpy and youll need a camber kit with them. Remember you get what you pay for, most of the time. S-techs wont be as comfortable as your oem springs but it will be close. Theyll also be tighter on the corners when your autoxing.

thanks 05 civic. im leaning towards the s-techs. im a lil scared of buying them off ebay tho, i read some article or somethin that there have been a whole lot of fakes out there, everything looks the exact same and they dont tell u its a fake, but they compared the size of the box with the real ones and the fake box is slightly bigger or somethin like that...anyone know a good site that sells em real cheap? anyone know if Tanabe springs offer a smooth ride? my friends sponsored by ptuning and might be able to get me a discount on em...
thanks!

The fake s-techs have a tein sticker on the spring instead of the tein logo painted on. Thats the biggest clue. As for tanabe, ive heard good things but i have no experience with them. Sorry i cant help you out there.

Just to give you another choice, I have a set of H&R Sport Springs on my car with Tokico blue shocks, it rides fairly nice for lowering springs and it corners very well too. The springs alone go for about $200, which is not to bad for my standards.

im thinkin about maybe getting the tokico hp set. anyone know any springs that lower about 1.5 front and 1.25 rear or maybe 1.25 front and 1 rear?? i dont want to sit to low, i just want something to lessen the wheel gap and still have a great ride/handling...

i give a thumbs up for the stechs. the drop is great, and handling has improven. the ride is also very smooth. if your wanting to autox, you should consider some stiffer springs though, or maybe even full coilovers if you have the money.

does this even exists. if its cheap its cheap for a reason. i would recommend eibach springs and kyb adjustable struts. its not cheap but its not crazy expensive. i think it set me back like 600. def a good ride not the smoothest but it handles great.
