Default New Rotors and Pads for 2002 Civic 2dr GX

Hi Guys,

This is my first post here, and hopefully I can get some advice on my brake dilemma.

I've got a 2002 Civic 2dr DX, and it's time to replace the brakes. The original factory brakes lasted for 140,000km, and I replaced them with some el-cheapo pads and rotors from a local discount auto store. Although I bought the "premium" parts, they lasted all of 8 months (15,000km) and now the front rotors are badly warped and the local dealership told me the pad was separating from the base of the brake pads. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed.

This time around I would like to do things the right way. I would like to know what I should buy as far as pads and rotors go. I'm leaning towards good old OEM Honda parts, but some of the aftermarket parts look decent as well. Here's the short list:

Rotors:

OEM Honda - $101
EBC Ultimax Blackdash Slotted - $128
Power Slot Slotted Rotors - $154

Pads:

OEM Honda - $41
Hawk Ceramic - $68
Hawk HPS - $58

My question: "Is it worth the extra money for the aftermarket parts?"

I'm looking for brakes that will last as long as the first set, and provide as good or better braking. I don't want race-ready track-day parts that give up longevity for performance, I want good quality, good performance, and long life. I don't mind paying a little more, but not $5000 for a Brembo kit. Do these aftermarket parts provide the longevity of the OEM Honda parts with better all around braking performance? If that's the case, then I'll gladly pay more for them.

Anyone with any experience with the above parts?

Thanks!

for brake pads i suggest buying from auto zone they have a lifetime warranty on them and you will never have to buy a pair again.
