Default New Wheels/Tires

I want to get 16" Rota Slipstreams eventaully and drop my 97 LX like an inch or so. What tire combo would allow me to do this? I thought maybe 215/45R16? I don't really understand much about tires and rubbing and everything. Thanks for the help.

16"x7" Rota Slipstreams with 205/45/R16's will work fine.

Alright, and how low would the lowest I can go be? At least, safely anyways. And what would some good tires be for that combo?

Yeah, 205/45-16s. 215s would be too wide for much wiggle room.

As far as what tire to get, that depends on several factors. Check out www.tirerack.com and figure out how you plan to use your car. I'd recommend someUltra High-PerformanceAll-Season tires with another set ofspecialized skinnywinter treads if you see a lot of snow. If it gets cold where you live, but doesn't get snowy or icy much, just some UHPAll-Season treads wouldbe the way to go. Go withchains andAll-Seasonsif you might travelfar from home incooler weather.

I wouldn't bother with Summer tires unless you live some freakish place where it never drops below 40deg F. They shouln't be run or stored in cold temps, so that sounds like a hassle to deal with, and All-Seasons handle hot weather perfectly fine.

97 Lx. nice. welcome to my world.

rota splistream were my first choice, till i tried to contact a dealers and didnt receive any service. ended up getting some 15x6.5 wrapped in a 195-55R15. and i,ve lowered my car 1.7/1.9 inches. not a problem with rubbing.

just get a tire that has an overall diameter as you stock tires. and u can safely drop ur car up to two inches without having to worry about a rub.

i love how my car handles.

all i have are tein Stech. stock monroe struts(that i switched when i changed my springs for some Stech's). if u wanna have a good look at wheels on ur car.

www.daialloys.com u can go on a program to put ur car and wheels from that brand on them. the Monza wheels from them somewhat resemble the splitstream. u can also dropur car approx to a hieght u might like it to be.

my car is stock so it was great for previewing some mods.

here is a topic to show u how i previewed things and how they ended up. the pics are in that topic.

And judging from that simulator I could get maybe even a 2" drop?

yes, you can, but you'll have minor camber wear problems with out a kit.
