Default Offset for '99 DX

I am looking at 17" rims with tire size 205/40/17. They have a 38 offset, and i've heard different opinions from different people about them rubbing and not rubbing. I dont have any way of putting the rims on my car to see if they rub or not, but does anyone know if these will be okay? And also, does anyone know a website that has an Offset Reference Chart or something?

It all depends on how low your car is. Obviously, the lower the car, with 17's, there is a very good chance that it will rub.
You can sacrifice the height a bit and get the 17's. I suggest to invest on coilovers so you can easily adjust the height.
