yea outter tie rods are easy and the half shafts are a little bit harder its a little hard to explain how to do it ur best bet is buying the HAYNES repair manual and your local auto parts store those book come in handy. or go to autozone.com and u should be able to find out how to do it they have repair guids on there site

How long will the halfshafts last with broken CV boots? I might just do the outer tie end rods myself and then when i got the money i will get somebody to do the halfshafts if possible.

Half-shafts can last a while, IF you drive nicely on them (aka gentle acceleration, esp around sharp corners). The bad news is they will continue to wear and make nasty noises as they do. Eventually, the CV joint will completely self-destruct, at which point your car is going nowhere, except onto the back of a tow truck and from there to a shop of your choice. A friend of mine drove almost a year with bad shafts before he replaced them...and had no issues. Another friend drove 2 months (during summer, so it was dry, no moisture getting into the joints) and they came apart on the freeway []
If you can at all afford to do it, do the half-shafts too...its safer
