Rear Brake Pad change Piston reset help.
 

Can anyone advice how to reset the piston on the rear calipers after changing pads. Park brake on or off. Clockwise or counter clockwise rotation? Will standard brake caliper reset kit do trick or is there a special honda tool?
Any advice greatly appreciated

1st- parking brake off, 2nd- counter clockwise, 3rd- I bought a cube lookin' thing that went on the end of a ratchet(12$ or so) that had all the different prongs on each side... it worked pretty good, it takes a lil elbow grease tho. haha. Make sure u take the cap off the brake fluid container.

Thanks. Thats great. Going to get tool for the job and follow the advice. Probably stupid question but, Why cap off brake fluid container, does that make a difference?

because your compressing the piston, therefor pushing fluid back into a air tight container

Thought that was going to be the reason alright. Thanks for advice. Hopefully that has me on the right track now.

Ok all, got job done. Had to open bleed to move piston and it ended up being clockwise. Used long nose plier to twist piston, ordered cube thing for next time. Thanks you all for the help. Last thing one of the new pads had to be wedged in while all the others just blonked in easy. will have to have a look at it again and see if it moving freely. It not rubbing on disc at moment from what I can tell. Anyway thanks again
