Rear Lower Strut Brace Question

Ok so bear with me here, I dont know all the names of stuff.

I'm putting on my rear lower brace, but the bolt I have to take out is holding up the arm that comes off the wheel. The shock is pushing down on this arm. So if I take that bolt out, is the arm part going to smack the ground and I'll never be able to get it back up. (Cause the shock is holding it down)???

Thanks guys.

RE: Rear Lower Strut Brace Question

Not if the wheel is off the ground.

On a side note though, has anyone figured out what that bar actually does? It seems like it ties together two pretty solidly joined points.

RE: Rear Lower Strut Brace Question

it wont pop back at ur or anything like that if the car is jacked up. when u pull the bolt out, the arm will move out of place and can be a bit tricky to get back in but its not very difficult.
