Rear Shocks KYB

I just purchase a pair of KYB GR-2 for Rear my 2000 Civic LX. The shocks came with black dust cover. Do I need to reuse my old Bump Stop or do I not require it?

Regards,
John:confused:

Re-use the bump stops. You can re-use the original dust covers or use the new ones, doesn't matter.

If the black bumpstop is like what I got with my GAX, then you need it. If it has a big metal cylinder at the top, then cut the bottom plastic off. The thing looks like a big washer at the top, and goes down about 1.5". It is necessary to use that so that the suspension rod has a stopper. If you don't use that the shocks rod will just go straight through the top hat... don't ask how I know.

Is it a ribbed plastic boot that compresses?

My KYB GR2 only came with a hard plastic cartridge top, no bump stump like the AGX

This is how the shocks looks http://www.amazon.com/KYB-341198-Sho...1059766&sr=1-2http://www.amazon.com/KYB-341198-Sho...1059766&sr=1-2

Little late response, but cut the top 1.5" off that dust cover. It's all metal at the top.
