Rear suspension sinks on start
 

Hey! I'm very new to automobile stuff, but i'm engineer, so i have technical background of my thoughts and stuff.

So, i'm wondering is it normal for Civic's 99-00 to have short cluch? When there's a short time before it starts to "get it".

I know, the higher trims of them tend to be beginer sports cars, so it could explane short cluch.

The second, is 125 hp of d16y8 is the cause of rear suspension sink on start?
Or it's just old, overused coils? Which i don't think could be, because the distances between tires and arcs are the same, 4 cm (1,7 inch or something)...

What are you comparing the clutch engagement to? Every car and especially every make is different. Generally speaking, I personally think the older civics with OEM clutches have some of the smoothest and predictable clutch engagements.

By the rear suspension sinking on start, do you mean when you take off from a stop the rear end squats? If so, it's just simple physics and the rear springs on these cars are very soft. Depending on how many miles are on your suspension, old and worn springs could play a role and make it more noticeable.

I compare my car to Volvo i've been driving in business trip and chinese car "Lifan".
Yeah, those are very different cars, but anyway, civics clutch is much shorter, that you have to relearn how to release it.But i like it! When you accelerating fast and do shifting right, this cluch is the best =) You don't feel the gaps. But in traffic, when you start moving from zero every time... you have to takeoff very slow or jump into car in front =)

...or maybe my car needs some work on it =)
